This type of promotional video is a music video to promote a song and the album itself 'eternal sunshine' by Ariana Grande. The type of genre of is a synth-pop and EDM as it follows a woman called 'Peaches' who has her memory wiped and goes through a series of memories of her past relationship with her past partner, living through them one last time before they are gone forever. This music video is inspired and based on the 2004 movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
P1: What is the purpose of this music video?
The purpose of this music video is to promote the Eternal Sunshine album and promote one of the lead singles on the album 'we can't be friends (wait for your love)' to help the album sell more so that the artist can gain more money. The target audience for this music video is aimed at R&B and Pop fans as well as fans of the famous musical artist Ariana Grande but it is open to more diverse audiences as well. I would say that the specific target audience age for this music video is aimed at ages between 15 - 30 due to this music video being released and shown on YouTube and being advertised on TikTok and on her personal Instagram account. Additionally, this music video shows the aspect of relationships being broken and how the development of being separated from that person is like which can be related to young audiences around 15 - 24 as these are the types of ages that go through these types of situations. Furthermore, this music video also attracts audiences of older ages as they will understand the deeper themes of emotional closure and that idea of letting go of memories that are most dearest to us. However, you could also that another reason why this music video attracts an older audience is due to this music video having references to the film 'Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind' which came out in 2004, making this music video attracted to the audience type that love this film. This music video fits the R&B music genre through the emotional themes and deep, soulful vocals that takes us on that journey of love, heartbreak and relationships which can be relatable to anyone who's been through these feelings and experiences which makes this music video a more beautiful piece of art as it can relate to many of its viewers. A technique that is displayed in this music video is the editing skills of flashes to different scenes to depict the different memories that the protagonist is going through. The editing here is used effectively, for example as we see our protagonist going further into her memories, her love interest slowly starts to disappear from them, showing to use that the protagonist is slowly losing her memory of her past lover. This promotional video stands out to other contenders as it guides the viewers through a story and partially has links to the artists' life which makes the song and the music itself to must more special as it holds that deeper meaning that captures the audiences attention and can capture that publicity that is needed to promote this music video further.
M1: Different Approaches Used
Setting: The overall setting of the 'We Can't Be Friends' music video changes into various locations as the character reflects on their different nostalgic memories of their past lover. For example, some of the settings that the character 'Peaches' go through play a crucial role in covering her feelings in this situation, especially when we can see her past lover disappear from some of the shots, representing her possible isolation and conflict that she is experiencing. However the way that he is seen disappearing from the shots also convey that she is slowly forgetting him as she goes through this procedure. Additionally, all of these shots seem to give a warm tone which suggest that these are happy memories that she is experiencing and they are appearing to be comforting to her but then these can also contrast with the gloomy lit aesthetic in some shots like for example, in the shot where they are both in the bed with a blue and cold lighting, this shows the sadness within the memories she is experiencing too which further depicts the conflict. Additionally, we can talk about the transition to the different settings as the music video uses flashes and different kinds of editing to make it seem like all these different setting that are appearing in her her are flashes of distant memories, indicating that they are perhaps buried deep and she doesn't want to remember all the good times she had with her ex over as she wants to be able t move on without the intense sadness that it comes with.
Lighting: The way the lighting is used in this music video is very smart as it uses a lot of focus and depth of field which helps guides the viewers attention and make them seem certain elements within the video. You can see this when we can see the main character 'Peaches' crying from the loss of her memories, the focus is on her and the background is burry which depicts that the editors want 'Peaches' the main centre of attention of when she is crying to said more sadness into the video to evoke more emotions within our audience. Additionally, the blurry background could represent confusion as our main character is experiencing conflict with choosing whether to lose her memories or not, adding a more emotional tone within the video. Furthermore another scene we can scene is where the entire setting goes to black and its just our main character in a dim light, showing her isolation and also her forgetfulness which links to the movie that this music video is based on.
Costumes and Makeup: Within this music video the costume and make up play a very important role as they convey the different memories she experiences and the different emotions that she may express through each one. In my opinion i would say that each outfit holds different emotions that contribute to this music video and the overall aesthetic. Some of the outfits she wears within the music video can only be described as stylish, for example in the beginning of the music video she appears to be wearing a fur coat with a v-cut top and a skirt. This outfit can be seen to represent the signature fashion sense within the music video. Another example of her outfits conveying some kind of emotion is when we see her and her love interest sat on a table with a cake right in front of them. Here we see Ariana wearing a soft, pink pastel dress with silky puffy sleeves, indicating that the main emotion expressed within this scene is love and pink is symbolic to that feeling. The silky-ness of the dress can indicate that this memory is a comfortable and loving memory she still hold as silk can be seen as a quite soft and comforting material. Moving onto the makeup, when Ariana first enters the clinic we can see that she has a white petal make up design upon her left eye, indicating purity and innocence. This design could also be symbolic to the idea of a pure and long lasting relationship which highlights the emotional struggle with her romantic feelings towards her ex partner.
Character Positions within: The staging in this music video is very significant as they can be seen to convey the feelings a that Ariana's Character is going through but also the emotion pain and conflict that he has with herself and her ex partner. An example of this is when we see both of them making snow angels. We see them in a very happy and loving state at the beginning. This shows us how strong of a bond and closeness their loving relationship was as they can be comfortable enough around each other to do childish things such as the snow angels. On the other hand, those few seconds of love are interrupted shortly when the ex partner disappears leaving the character 'Peaches' all alone no longer smiling or being happy. This juxtaposes what we have just seen as the symbolic event of him disappearing represents how the character she is playing is losing her memories and any thought of him. Furthermore, this can also represent that tone of melancholy as we see that the character she plays seems to be isolated with each memory, evoking an upsetting emotion within its viewers as we see that longing and separation.
Composition: The composition of this music video really shows off a lot of character representation through their emotions and interactions. For example, there is a shot where both characters are on a bed, the ex partner being in the bed and turned away so he is not looking at the main character 'Peaches' and she is sat on the edge of the bed looking away but sometimes glancing at the ex partner. The shot within this scene conveys to us that there has been some sort of disagreement between the two which causes this tension to occur. The shot conveys a close up of the partners face slightly blurred as the camera shot is focused on Ariana singing while glancing at his back, indicating that feeling of separation and see Ariana more distant to the camera giving that sense that she feels alone and ignored. In another shot we see that the camera pans out and gives a close up of the main character as she cries while looking at the camera. This composition helps make these emotions more intimate with the viewers and deeply connect with them on a personal level which makes this product different from others as it has deep meanings and connections with real life situations.
This music video takes its audience through an emotional story based on the film 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' in which a the protagonist gets his memory of his ex lover erased to relieve him from the grief of the depression he is faced with. During the process we see the protagonist relive the memories with his past lover and then our protagonist suddenly realizes that he doesn't want to forget all the greatest memories he had with his lover. This is shown in the music video where the woman 'Peaches' goes through the exact same procedure and visits the memories of the love interest in the promotional video. A unique take on this video music video is that it has a very warm and comforting light that further adds to the effect of love and how the loving memories we share with someone can be very comforting and reassuring and this leads the audience to feel this exact feeling. The reason why this music video shows the protagonist going through these memories is to help visualize the character 'Peaches' to the audience and for them feel like they are 'Peaches' in this music video as this situation can be very relatable to many people and this promotional video might help people deal with the struggle of a similar situation like this.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Official Trailer #3
P1: What type of promotional video is it?
This type of promotional video is a trailer for a game belonging to The Legend of Zelda series which was created by the video game company, Nintendo. This game fits into the genre of an open world, action packed adventure game because it contains elements such as combat, exploration and most importantly, storytelling.
P1: What is the purpose of this promotional video?
The purpose of this trailer is to encourage and convince people to buy the new release to the Zelda series, Tears of the Kingdom so that the company can gain money from their product. They succeed in this because they make this game seem exciting with their gripping story-telling and breath taking graphics that make this product really special. The target audience for this game is aimed at 12-30 but can appeal to an older audience as it follows a game series that has been around for decades. This trailer is also aimed at people who enjoy playing video games, particularly open world fantasy games, and strong lovers of The Legend of Zelda series. This trailer fits the genre of action-adventure and fantasy because it shows the protagonist exploring a vast open world filled with enticing and various quests to complete as well as the battles and monsters that the player will have to fight to proceed forward into the game. The camera work within this promotional video is used strategically as it shows the vast open lands and regions as well as the close up of characters faces to show their importance within the story and proving to the audience that exploration is a key thing within this product. Additionally, the use of the soundtrack within this trailer is what really makes this product beautiful as it helps the viewers get guided through the story, but further into the trailer, the music begins to get intense which gives viewers that rush of excitement as they begin to feel like they are the protagonist themselves, filling them with adrenaline and excitement as they play this game.
The difference between this promotional video and its competitors in the gaming industry is that the way of how this trailer is portrayed shows just how in depth the story really is compared to other story games with the beautiful sounding music, stunning visuals and immersive combat that really puts you in the shoes the protagonist. In other open world trailers, they can include good story-telling gameplay but this trailer makes it so much more impactful with its immersive and intense soundtrack that makes you feel like you are truly the hero in this game and how the rhythm and tempo changes depending on what scene they are showing from the story, showing each characters meaning and effectiveness they will have in the story when the player begins their adventure. For example, during the scene where the character Zelda is holding the sword, the music turns soft and comforting, showing the audience that this character is a person of trust where as in the scene where the antagonist shows up, Ganondorf, the soundtrack turns rough and destructive, emphasizing to the audience that this character is a person with incredible power and appears to be threatening.
M1: Different Approaches Used
Setting: Within this trailer we see a showcase of a variety of biomes that give the audience the appeal to explore all the new content there is within the new open world sequel. For example if we talk about the new introduction of the Sky Islands, we can say that they are the most striking feature within this trailer as they add a new unique setting for players to explore and to look at the visually appealing biome that it is. The cause of this new area of exploration allows the players to play around with the new mechanics that have been showcased within each trailer as it gives them the creativity of how to traverse to these different islands. These floating islands also juxtapose what we have seen in the previous game as they create wonder and mystery for the players and it gives them that inviting feeling to come and explore each of the islands unique designs. Another example we can mention is the new ancient ruins and structures such as the mystical shrines and the stone structures that provide more hints to the on going lore and history about the open world of 'Hyrule'. The use of these new ancient structures and ruins suggest that there are hidden stories for the player to uncover to truly understand the narration fully.
Lighting: One thing that we can see used in this trailer throughout is the natural lighting and how it helps create this realism such as the bright scenes with the help of daylight that helps showcase how vibrant the world is which makes people want to explore it more as it looks visually beautiful. An example of this is when the camera pans over the open field with the main character 'Link' walking through the open plains and we can see the sunlight shine upon the grass and the hills, enhancing its effect of beauty to the audience, creating that feeling of awe within the audience. The natural light of this world makes the vibrancy more noticeable and evokes that feeling of adventure and exploration which further hypes up the target audience to play in this expansive world. This links with the genre of the product as it is supposed to be an open world exploration action game where players can see the beauty of the land of Hyrule thanks to the addition of natural lighting.
Costumes and Props: The character costumes within this trailer shows the audience just what time period that this game is set to be in which is a medieval period as the characters within have swords and capes with horses. One of the characters we can really dive into is the main character himself 'Link'. Links costume seems to be a more modernized version of his classic outfit within the previous game, giving him belt buckles and more leather chest pieces that somewhat seem like little bits of armour for more protection. The colour pallet of his outfit gives of a light baby blue colour with the darkish brown for the leather and the cream trousers with brown boots and a black cape. This colour pallet immediately tells the audience that Link is an important character within the game as he has more detail and colour compared to the random villagers and soldiers within the game. We can also see that he has a sword and shield upon his back, indicating that he is a fearless warrior that is respected by many. However if we look at a different characters design such as Princess Zelda, we can see the difference in how her outfit makes her look more royal and highly status as a princess. In some scenes her one of her costumes features fabrics of blue and white which could represent wisdom a purity which links to her character as she is known as the 'Sage of Light'. However the outfit she mainly wears is a white dress with ancient head pieces and designs, showing to the audience her royal status while also suggesting her strength an determination. We can also see that her hair has changed from the previous game, her hair now being short with two braids connecting at the back, possibly representing to the players of the fresh start she wants after the events of the previous game.
Character Positions within: Within this media product we can see that each character has their own stance and positions that represent what kind of characters they are and what their beliefs are. If we go back to the main character 'Link', we can see that he believes to be a hero and devoted knight as his poses and positions within the trailer indicate action and readiness. For example, when 'Link' is shown preparing this sword and bow his stance is wide and determined showing off his fearless confidence as one of 'Hyrule's' protector. On the other hand if we look at the main villain Ganondorf and his positions and stances, he shows his powerful and obnoxious intentions through the body language and how the game positions him. For example, the game positions him under a red and gloomy light that he caused with his arms and legs spread with 'red gloom' emitting off of his body. This position instantly suggests his evil dominancy and authority which links with his role of being the main antagonist of the game. Additionally, his positioning within the some frames makes him the focal point which gives the audience that feeling of a threatening and intimidating aura in which he holds.
Composition: The framing and composition in this trailer is crucial as it gives mystery to the new characters that will be introduced within the game and can also indicate each characters intentions. For example if we were to talk about Ganondorf again, there is a scene where he is looking into the camera while yelling because of all the power he has inherited. In this scene the camera had decided to do a close up on Ganondorf's face which allows him to be the main focus of this shot. This shot indicates to the target audience his importance to the story and just how much of a threat he opposes towards the main characters. However, in another example we can see the characters 'Princess Zelda' and 'Rauru' having a conversation with 'Rauru's' hand being placed upon 'Zelda's' shoulder. In this shot it appears to be an over the shoulder shot as the camera is behind Zelda and facing this new character who's face isn't in frame. This indicates mystery within the trailer as it leaves the target audience wondering who this mystery character is. This can also link to Rauru's importance to the narrative as the trailer makes him appear to be secretive with his appearance and in the scene we can see him talking with Zelda which must indicate that he contributes to the story somehow. Additionally, as both of them are in this shit, Zelda is the only one to have her face shown which indicates that Rauru is a more important and higher status character than Princess Zelda which must mean he has some kind of great power awaiting within the story.
TV Show Promo:
YOU - Trailer #2 Netflix
P1: What type of promotional video is it?
This type of promotional video is a TV Show Trailer that is advertising the new upcoming series that is coming to Netflix. This trailer fits into the category of dark romance and drama as the trailer tends to keep you on the edge of your seat with its unsettling aspects.
P1: What is the purpose of this promotional video?
Fundamentally, the purpose of this promotional video is to promote and gain attention to the new and upcoming dark drama coming to Netflix, YOU Season 1. Another purpose is to entertain its viewers with a mysterious new dramatic show filled with shocking and evil intentions. Included in this trailer are aspects and content that will be featured in the upcoming episodes. The target audience for this show is aimed at people between the age of 18 - 35 as it includes mature content and graphic scenes that would not be suitable to show to a younger audience. Additionally, it is mainly aimed at people who enjoy watching dramas with that horror element within that really makes the audience watch with an uneasy feeling. This promotion fits the overall standard of a TV Show as it contains fast paced shots of different scenes within the trailer and overall it is a drama. The build up of this trailer with the scenes immediately create this ominous feeling that lurks throughout, hoping to give its viewers that chilling and eerie atmosphere as they watch. The camera shots in this trailer are mostly medium shots of the two characters in the show, Beck and Joe, immediately signifying their importance in this shows season and how they will impact how the story will play out. Furthermore, the ominous and unsettling voice over by the protagonist makes trailer even more uncomfortable for viewers to watch and listen which further adds to the eerie perspective we have for this show. Overall this trailer includes scenes from various different episodes within the season, enticing the target audience to watch the show and find out the big question as to how an innocent and loving relationship and turn into something sinister and evil.
One main difference with this promotional video compared the the ones we've already looked at is that that the overall vibe of this trailer is very intense as the audience are presented with the message of dark love and the theme of obsession and describing to the target audience just how far someone like our protagonist will go to get what they deeply desire which then leads back to that message setting up the overall key theme of suspense and unsettlement. This effective as the suspenseful tone may lead to the target audience wanting to watch the season to find out what happens. Furthermore, we could also comment on the lighting that is used throughout the trailer such as in the beginning, the overall tone is warm indicating that loving and relaxed feeling that the couple share whereas towards the end of the trailer,, the lighting shifts to a cold color, indicating towards the mystery of what happened between them.
M1-Different Approaches Used
Setting:In this trailer the Netflix Show 'YOU' takes place in the vibrant and urban setting of New York which includes settings such as apartments, parks, busy streets and the main setting of the show which is the bookstore. The reason why the bookstore is such an iconic setting within the trailer is because it is where he firsts meets the love of his life, the character 'Beck'. The bookstore can be seen as an intimate space for the main character 'Joe' as its his place of work and mainly where he interacts with his love interest. The bookstore holds a warm and inviting atmosphere which juxtaposes the more darker settings of the show. For example, we at the end of the trailer we see a quick flash of our main character who is inside this glass box type prison and he's banging on the glass in desperation but there is a dark tone within this setting. The setting gives off this ominous and dark aura as it leaves the audience wondering why there is a glass box prison to begin with and why our main character has been placed inside it.
Lighting: The lighting is significantly important within this trailer as it shows juxtaposition with the different feelings and themes within the show. For example, in the shot where Joe and Beck are sat together in the book store on their phones, there is a soft lighting indicating that this is a romantic and intimate moment between them both. This soft lighting helps the audience understand the intimacy between the characters and help them realise that they both feel that sense of love and safety when they are with each other, also showing that they both trust each other on a more deeper level. However, if we look in the scene where Beck is confronting Joe for watching her in the park, there is a cooler tone within the light which further emphasizes the tension and danger within this confrontation. This cooler, natural lighting indicates to the audience the the shock and nervousness that Joe might be dealing with in this confrontation as he has just been found out for his true nature.
Costumes: There are many different outfits that are used within this trailer to give the characters more depth and reveal to the target audience how they appear to be. For example if we zoom in on the type of clothes that the main character Joe wears, he wears casual but stylish clothes such as fitted jackets and sweaters which conveys to the audience that he maybe quite charming with his appearance and may hint to being one of the key factors on how he attracts his love interests and where his dark and ominous possessiveness begins. However, some of Joe's outfits juxtapose this theory of being charming as in one scene we can see him jogging in the park wearing full black with a cap on, indicating that something serious and dangerous is going to happen and he doesn't want people to find out he had any involvement within it. The black colour pallet within this outfit may also indicate to him wearing a disguise to cover his identity of his ominous and evil intentions, almost indicating that he doesn't want the charming Joe to have any involvement within his horrible actions so its like he takes on this alternate persona with him dressing in all black.
Positions: One thing that this trailer includes is the good placement of characters and there positions within the scene that really create that loving but ominous tone. One thing we can mention within this trailer is the distance between the characters and how they interact with each other. For example, in the first shots of the trailer, we can see Joe and Beck playing a board game together in which they are placed next to each other and bonding over the fun rules they made up for the game. In this scene they are both close to each other, symbolising that they are comfortable with both their presences as they are getting to know each other. This also signifies the feeling of love they are both sharing and how they are expressing themselves to each other. This juxtaposes later within the trailer as we begin to see Joe's dark intentions show as he begins to distance himself from Beck as he begins to stalk her constantly, allowing the audience to see Joe's true colours and see just how far he will go to keep her his. This could be seen as a lack of trust on Joe's side as he follows her constantly and making sure that she isn't doing anything that he doesn't like which then also breaks the strong bond that they have as Joe doesn't give her her space and instead holds this possessive grasp over her.
Composition: The composition within this trailer holds significant meaning as it goes further into depth about Joe's obsessive and frightening mind. There is an example of this when we get close ups of Joe's face as his voice over speaks his mind and thoughts. The close ups of his face indicate his obsession but also it allows the audience to be personal with Joe, almost as if the audience is his only way to speak of the horrible actions he will commit. This also gives us an idea of what kind of phycological state that Joe is in as we get the close ups of his face as he talks to himself. Talking to himself also may indicate to him driving himself delusional as we camera pans to him. However they may also reflect his loneliness and desperation to tell people the horrible things that he has done.
Film Trailer:
Wicked - Official Trailer 2
P1: What type of promotional video is it?
This type of promotional video is a film trailer to showcase the upcoming movie 'Wicked'. This is a movie adaptation of the Broadway show and novel version of 'Wicked' and will now be able to be watched like a film. The genre of this type of film is a musical fantasy that focuses on two main characters, Elphaba who is the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda who is the Good Witch.
P2:What is the purpose of this promotional video?
The purpose of this this promotional video is to help promote the new upcoming film so that it can sell well to earn money and that people can buy tickets to watch it on the big screens like cinemas. The Wicked trailer entices the target audience to watch the film by putting the dramatic sounds between each clip as it goes to black and revealing our two main characters and the close relationship that awaits them, leading to the viewers wanting to find out how they became such good friends and how they ended up being the two opposites of good and bad. The target audience of this film is aimed to be around 8 to 40 but it can also be aimed at fans of the infamous 'The Wizard of Oz' movie as this film is a prequel to the events taken place in that film. Additionally, as this movie as an adaptation of a novel and musical it could also be aimed at people who enjoyed the musical in the past and want to see it come to life with the power of movie editing and people who really enjoyed the novel. The genre of this film sits in musical fantasy as we see talking animals and creatures within as well as the characters singing songs from the original show. The camerawork is effective in this trailer as for example, we get a close up shot of a witches hat and in the background there is a window with shattered glass, leading the audience to speculate that possibly something shocking has happened to the Witch of the West, leading the audience wanting to know how it led up to that situation. Furthermore, we also get some shots of our two main protagonists, Glinda and Elphaba, which indicates their closeness and how the movie will evolve around their relationship and their strong bond that they once shared. Overall the Wicked trailer is conventional because it teases people with these scenes that leave many mysteries with the audience full of questions for what will happen next and how did it happen.
The overall establishment of this trailer immediately tells its audience that it this film will be strongly revolved around its story as everyone who is working on this project want to make this seem real and similar to the musical. This media product is different to the other promotional videos we've looked at because this trailer really brings the world of Oz to the target audience and make them believe that they are in Oz themselves and that they are learning about the bond of how two different witches came to be. I believe that the overall message of this trailer is is the friendship of our two protagonists and the complexities of their good and evil identities. This movie shapes to the audience the differences between Glinda and Elphaba and how they are both opposites but it also crafts their destiny to become great friends. Furthermore, during the trailer we can see Elphaba finally placing the witches hat upon her head, which tells the audience that she has finally accepted what people describe her to be, different. Therefore this leads her on her journey to find her own identity and people who won't misjudge her for who she is.
M1: Different Approaches Used
Setting: The setting is crucial to the story of this movie as The Land of Oz is where this friendship begins to blossom. The trailer showcases the vibrant landscape that immerses the world into truly believing that they are part of this world they are listening to how the 2 main characters met. The setting overall represents the contrast between the real world as we see the land of Oz extraordinary and full of magical adventure. An example of this is when we have our first look at our main characters in Emerald City. This location is a crucial part within the story as is appears to be a vibrant metropolis filled with grand structures and most importantly, it is home to the Wizard. This symbolises the power within Emerald City and how it is seen as a idyllic place for many people in the Land of Oz. Another example of important settings within this trailer is the Shiz University as it is where our two main characters first meet and develop this strong relationship. The setting of this university is significant as it is associated with the themes of education and growth as a person, seen within the two characters. you can also say that this setting is important as it helps establish the start of this beautiful friendship and helps start the journey of our two characters.
Lighting: There is a sense of lighting that companies each of the characters which gives the target audience that symbolic meaning to each character. In this trailer we can see that there is a lot of high contrast used to make the world look more vibrant and colourful but we also see similar lighting with the characters. For example, in the scene where Glinda is in her room, she is seen to have warm lighting which indicates her optimistic and joyful personality. This immediately presents to the audience that Glinda will have that comforting and bubbly personality which mirrors her actual nickname which is Glinda The Good Witch. However, if we look at the scene where the character Elphaba is walking down the stairs of the party, she is shown in a spotlight which shows us her importance of the growth of the identity. This spotlight scene connotates her transformation of embracing who she really is and the acceptance that she has finally found which draws the attention of the audience further.
Costumes: Costumes play a really huge role within this movie as they can represent the character development and the story telling throughout the trailer. An example of this is when we compare Elphaba's and Glinda's outfits. Elphaba's outfits consist of dark clothes such as the dress/gown that she first wears when Glinda and Elphaba have their first conversation. The darkness of Elphaba's clothes are symbolic to her being different and being know as an outsider compared to the rest of the people there and her complexity to find herself as a person. The darkness of her outfits could represent how she feels about her missing identity, she feels empty not knowing what she is truly made for. In contrast if we look at Glinda's outfits, they consist of the stereotypical girly pink bright dresses which shows off her status as a person and how she looks to be respected by many of the fellow students. The colour pink is a signature colour for Glinda as it follows her as she grows up to become Glinda the Good Witch and it represents further her bubbly personality and her cheerful traits. The pastel colour of pink could also represent the innocence of Glinda and charm as she appears to be quite a popular character for her looks and personality.
Positions:The positioning of characters within this trailer is seen as quite a special thing as it shows the relationships between the two characters and how they bond together so nicely. An example of this is when we see Elphaba and Glinda linking arms as they walk down a hallway full of flying monkey guards. This positioning and the linking of arms highlights their relationships as they are seen close together almost as if they are depending on each other for comfort and protection. This helps the audience to understand the power of their relationship and the emotional stability that they need from one another. Furthermore if we look at the scene where Elphaba and Glinda first communicate, we can see that Glinda is positioned so that she is around a crowd of people whereas if we look at Elphaba, she is positioned to where she is stood alone with the students glancing at her for being different. This shows further social status between the two characters and how Glinda and Elphaba start off as opposites that come together later on no matter their differences.
Composition: The composition has it's importance within this trailer as it helps draw attention to the specific characters and their emotions. For example, when we get close up frames of Elphaba and Glinda, specifically that scene where they are both crying as Glinda puts a cape around Elphaba, it highlights the emotions that they feel for each other and the happy but sad facial expressions so that the audience can connect with the characters on a deeper level and we see their admiration for each other and how thankful that are to have met each other.
A TV Ident is a promotional video that is viewed as a short clip and shows who or which TV channel that the viewer is watching. This ident is for the BBC in order to promote the channel. The target audience for this is a mass audience so they want to make sure it is recognisable so people will remember it.
M1- Different Approaches Used
Setting: This Indent features the natural landscape of the water and the wildlife that lives within which creates this inviting and relaxing setting to the viewers as they begin to watch what's on the channel. A big aspect of this is that the setting is the ocean which adds a water element to the scene. Water can be seen as relaxing, especially with the sounds that comes from the water making this a peaceful and inviting channel to watch. The hippos also contribute to the lively atmosphere as we can see them playing around in the water, almost hinting that this channel is also fun to watch as well.
Lighting: The lighting within this TV Ident is typically really bright, allowing the vibrance of the ocean to show within the Ident and to create further that playful and relaxing vibe to the channel. Because of this lighting it helps evokes feelings within the audience such as happiness and joy so that people will continue to watch the channel and it may attract more. However this Ident also uses natural light such as the sun to give the Indent that warm tone so that it appears more welcoming and comforting towards its viewers, attracting them to want to watch more of this channel.
Positions: The way that the hippos are positioned makes them the focus within the frame as they have the central attention, especially when they form a circle with the logo for BBC One in the middle. Because of the form that the Hippos have made it makes the logo the centre of attention, almost as if the hippos are circling the logo to highlight it to show its importance or just to show the viewers that they are watching BBC One.
Composition: The composition within this TV Ident mainly focuses in the hippos at the start as we see close ups of them traversing in the water. However when the hippos come together to form a circle, the camera pans out and then we get a long shot of the hippos swimming in a circle with th logo in the middle. The technique used here could be rule of thirds as the hippos are in the places where they could draw your attention to the logo. Furthermore, the long shot of the hippos could signify how intelligent and amazing they are, almost as if the channel has the same characteristics.
Comparison Of All Videos
When comparing all of these videos together, their are similarities and differences within them such as the techniques they convey, the purpose of why they were made, then genre that each video fits into and the target audience for each video.
Purpose (Comparison)
When looking into Ariana Grande's 'We Can't Be Friends' music video, the main purpose of this music video is to promote her new single with a visual narrative music video that fits the theme of the song. Additionally, this music video's other purpose is to also promote her new and upcoming album 'Eternal Sunshine' from which this song is from that she is promoting. Further, we know that the reason of why she has made this video is for her audience to acknowledge that she is making a new album through her new single and music video and posting this video to the internet gives people a taste as to what kind of album it is going to be and it also makes her target audience excited and builds anticipation for her new album, ensuring that her audience likes the single before actually releasing the full album.
However when looking into The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Trailer, we can see that this has a different but similar purpose to the music video. We know that this trailer made by Nintendo has a purpose of promoting (similar with the music video) the new video game release and addition to the series of The Legend of Zelda and it makes people excited through giving them details and visuals about the new world that gamers will be exploring, the story that they will be journeying on and the different gameplay techniques that will get them through the game. So overall we can see some similar aspects between this video game trailer and the music video as both goals are to overall promote the upcoming product coming out by giving their audience some insight to the product for them to enjoy up until the actual release.
Furthermore, when comparing these two towards a TV Show, specifically the TV show 'YOU' on Netflix, we can see that this promotional video follows through the same footsteps that the two previous trailers/videos have. I say this because this trailers purpose is to promote the new and upcoming series that Netflix is releasing by giving the audience small narrative hints as to what the show will be about without spoiling the entire show for them. They also do this by showing us short clips and a voice over of the main character, which may spark interest in the audience as to what this series will be out and how the small hints that the trailer gives the audience without spoiling too much of the story will further unfold when the series releases. This promotional video is similar to the last two videos that I have spoke about due to them all wanting to promote a product and overall making the target audience interested and intrigued of the final product until the release date.
Furthermore, when we compare these three videos to the Wicked Film trailer, we can see that this film trailers purpose is to promote the upcoming film adaptation of the musical Wicked by showcasing the mystical world of Oz, the iconic music from the original musical, and the key characters that have been brought upon the big screen. Additionally, this trailer also shares the purpose of providing the audience with excitement through the short clips that provide short hints towards the narrative for those who are not already familiar with the original musical while ensuring long time fans of elements that have remained within the film. We can say that this promotional video is similar towards the last three that I have mentioned due to this trailer making the target audience excited for the product until the final release.
However, this final video is different to the others as this doesn't advertise a particular product and instead serves as an intermission played in-between programmes. The video that I am talking about is the BBC One - Hippo Indent as like I have said this is just a short clip of hippos swimming in a circle while the BBC One logo is shown within the circle. This TV indent is different to the other videos that I have spoken about as the four previous trailers and videos that these visual promos serve as a way of promoting a product by either showing the audience hints that will make them want the product more and make them excited for it whereas this TV indent doesn't promote any particular product and instead just reminds audiences of what channel that they on one while changing shows.
Target Audience (Comparison)
When discussing the target audience for Ariana Grande's 'We Can't Be Friends', we can say that this target audience is very broad and big due to her focus and theme of music around the Pop genre, meaning that this music video and this song will be attracted to the target audience that like Pop music. Furthermore, since Ariana Grande has a really big fan base already, this means that the music video and the song itself will be attracted to her fans as they are always wanting new songs and bits of music from her. Additionally, this music video could attract a more broader audience since within this music video, its main narrative and elements that is told throughout is similar and based of the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind so you could argue that people who like this film will also be part of the target audience for this music video as they have similar themes and elements.
However, when we compare this target audience to The Legend of Zelda's target audience, we can see some differences when it comes to the audience due to the kinds of product that this is. Since 'The Legend of Zelda' is a videogame, this means that this trailer will have a target audience of gamers who enjoy playing video games, especially since this game is made by Nintendo, this will attract gamers who are hardcore Nintendo fans and players of their past games. Additionally, another portion of this game trailers target audience is already existent due to The Legend of Zelda already having such a huge fanbase of people who love the overall franchise and stories that these games provide. Finally, I would also say that another portion of this target audience is people who love adventure games with a lot of exploration and secrets to uncover. As we can see these target audiences are definitely different from each other in terms of the product of one being a music video and their audience being Pop music lovers whereas the other is a videogame that attracts gamers who love exploring and adventuring a new world.
However we could also say that they have some similarities when it comes to both products already having an existing fanbase and target audience. On the other hand, when looking at the TV show 'YOU' in comparison, I would argue that it has limited similarities with the two previous target audiences. This is because the TV show is mainly aimed at a target audience that likes drama and psychological horror which is a different theme compared to both the previous trailers and target audiences. Additionally, you could argue that it is perhaps similar towards the other target audiences in terms of Netflix already having a fanbase due to the past Netflix originals and this show being an original itself and since this show was a book previously, you could argue that it already has a fanbase of people that enjoyed the books and now they are excited to see it upon the big screen. This is similar towards the other pervious target audiences I have compared together as they all seem to have already existing fanbases and audiences that have liked and enjoyed past products, however the theme of this show compared to the other products is totally different, overall attracting different target audiences.
Further, when we talk about the Movie Trailer of Wicked, we can see that the target audience for this trailer has similar elements to the others while also having some differences. The reason for this is because this target audience for this trailer is mainly for people who love musical theatre and those who are really big fans of the stage play of Wicked. This is similar to the other audiences that I am comparing this trailer to as Wicked already has an existing fanbase due to the musical and the books coming before the actual adaptation of the film and since this film is a prequel and sequel to the Wizard of Oz, their is already an existing fanbase for that film too, so people who enjoyed that film will be within the target audience for Wicked as they are set within the same story and feature the same characters you see within The Wizard of Oz, such as Elphaba and Glinda. Furthermore, I would also say that this target audience relates to the 'We Can't Be Friends' music video audience as Ariana Grande stars as one of the main characters, meaning that her fanbase will also be within the target audience for this film as they will want to watch her acting within the film since this is one of her very big roles. This trailers target audience is overall similar to some of the previous trailers that I've spoken about in terms of already existing audiences and fanbases but it is different from the rest as this is the first target audience that attracts people who are fans of musicals and enjoy them.
Finally, the last promotional video target audience that I will be comparing is the BBC One -Hippo Indent and this video again has some similar and different aspects in terms of target audience. What I mean by this is that this video is mainly aimed at audiences who are a fan of BBC One and their channels, meaning that they will be seeing this indent and others when the channels and shows will be changed. Due to this, you could say that this video is similar to the other promotional ones due to their already being an audience and fanbase present as BBC One is a well known channel in the UK but in terms of theme and things that are included within the video, their are no real similarities. So overall their are some similarities with this video compared to the rest when talking about already having big fanbases and present audiences, however all of these videos have different themes and elements in the video that all make them unique from each other.
Genre (Comparison)
Here I will be comparing the genre of the videos as well as the kind of video that I have spoken about. The first video is Ariana Grande's 'We Can't Be Friends' music video and the genre of this video is that it is a music video that conveys and tells a story / narrative through the different clips and the way that the actors are being with each other within the music video themselves. Additionally, since this music video is based of the film 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' you could argue that this music video is a little short film based of that and that they share the similar themes of romantic drama as we see within this video the character 'Peaches' wanting to forget her past lover as a way to get over her heart break and emotional loss that she is enduring due to the end of her relationship with her past lover. Additionally, you can argue that this music video conveys the genres of science fiction as a concept that is really big within this music video is memory erasing that is inspired by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Furthermore, when comparing that music video to the video game trailer 'The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom' in terms of genre with the video and such, I would say that these two videos have very different genres. This is because this trailer is within the genre of video game marketing as it combines gameplay footage with the cinematic cutscenes of the story that are also featured within the game itself. Additionally, when talking about the genre of the video game itself, this games genre is fantasy adventure due to the ancient legends that are seen within the trailer and the magical abilities that are shown which the player will use to progress through the story. Furthermore, I would also say that this trailers genre is action as within the trailer it shows the combat system within the game that players will use to fight enemies within the world and the boss fights that they will encounter with quests and bosses as they progress. This clearly proves that this previous video and this trailer are different in terms of genre as they advertise different things and the things that they advertise are totally different things such as a fantasy adventure game and a short film that talks about heartbreak.
On the other hand, when talking about the similarities in genre with the TV show 'YOU' when comparing them to the previous two videos, I would say that this trailer has almost nothing in common with the others. This is because the trailer for this TV show is cinematic in a way, which you could say is similar to the 'We Can't Be Friends' in terms of genre but this trailer also conveys the genres of psychological horror due to the audience hearing Joe's internal voice within the trailer, and the fact that this trailer also fits within the genre of Crime Drama as we can see the main character within the trailer stalk his love interest within the TV, displaying his crime like behaviour. However, you could argue that the similarities in genre with this trailer is with the music video as they both go other topics of love and romance but the trailer has more darker themes of love where as the music video has more softer themes and tones, overall making them similar with differences.
Furthermore, the film trailer of Wicked has similarities and differences that I will be comparing to the previous three visual promos that I have spoken about. When watching the trailer of the official Wicked film, you can immediately tell that this trailer fits into the genre of cinematic fantasy, due to the trailer displaying the world of Oz and the talking animals with the display of magic from characters within the trailer too. This is relatable with the trailer 'The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom' as this game is set within a fantasy world that also displays talking animals and magic elements such as spells and powerful people, however I would also say that the cinematic genre also relates to the 'We Can't Be Friends' and 'YOU' due to them being shot within a cinematic way, making them similar in terms of that genre. Additionally, another genre that this trailer coveys is the musical genre due to the amount of singing and songs that are heard within the background of the scenes and clips shown. This again can relate to 'We Can't Be Friends' music video as they both convey at least a song with some story telling, but I wouldn't say that the music video fits in the genre of musical.
Finally, the last video that I will be comparing to the previous that I have spoken about in terms of genre is the BBC One - Hippo Indent. In terms of genre I would say that this video has nothing in common in terms of genre when comparing the video to the previous ones except for saying that it fits within the cinematic genre possibly with the way the video has been shot but I would say that would be it. The indent doesn't really have a genre as it focuses on branding mainly and making sure that audiences remember the channel that they are on when an intermission comes on between shows and such or when an ad break arrives. This indent doesn't share a narrative or story with a similar genre to the others, making this video stand out from the rest as it really doesn't have much in common in terms of genre.
Techniques (Comparison)
When talking about the techniques within the 'We Can't Be Friends' music video, their are lots of different elements and aspects that made this video overall. One technique that is included within this music video is the symbolism within the video and how it represents the theme of the music video. This whole music video is all about memories and wanting to forget the good memories with someone in hopes of moving on with their life, and we see this with the memory deletion machine within the music video that relates to wanting to erase the emotional pain of which the character 'Peaches' is experiencing. Another great technique that I believe is strong within this music video is the lighting that is displayed within. For example, when Peaches is on the bed sitting alone, the room has very dark lighting with blue hints of light, hinting as sadness and how this breakup has lead her into a really dark time in her life which is being further demonstrated through the lighting used within the music video. Finally, the last technique that this music video has done is with its editing with the clips and how the pacing of them each fits with the tempo of the song. What I mean is that the song as a very slow beat and not a hyper one and the clips that are shown within the music video, match this tempo and slowness, which allows the audience to have enough time to watch each scene unfold slowly while following the music.
However, when comparing these techniques to the second trailer which is 'The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom' their are some similar techniques but not a lot. The video game trailer overall uses the technique of using high quality clips and cinematic filming to present towards the audience the really epic adventure that they will get to experience. For example, we can see these cinematic clips for the scene within the side shot of the main protagonist Link, crouching as he looks over the land of Hyrule. However, if you compare this with the music video, they do use the technique of using cinematic shots within their promotional material but they use these techniques to convey different meanings as the music video conveys a more personal and emotional story whereas the video game trailer conveys an action packed world waiting to be discovered by the player. Additionally, 'The Legend of Zelda' trailer uses another technique which is the music to build hype around the product and to add more excitement around the game itself and its story that the players will get to experience on release date. This again is similar to the music video as they both use the technique of music as a central element to make the audience feel a certain way but the emotions that they want the audience to feel are totally different. For example, the music video's music is the song of which Ariana is promoting and expresses heartbreak and sadness whereas 'The Legend of Zelda' uses a very powerful orchestra to build tension, anticipation and to make the players excited to fight Gannon and save the world of which the players will explore and learn to love. However, a difference between the two visual promos is the camerawork between them as the music video uses close up shots to convey the personal emotion of the actors to emphasis the sadness of loss whereas 'The Legend of Zelda' uses wide angle shots that are fast moving to display the land and environment that the players will explore while also displaying the amount of action that the players will experience and endure within their playthrough.
However, when comparing both of these visual promotions with the third promotional video that I have spoken about ,'YOU', their are again some similarities and differences when talking about the techniques. One technique that has been used within this trailer is the cinematic shots and camerawork that has been used to display the characters and the story. For example, these shots are seen when introducing the characters of the show such as Joe and Beck while Joe is internally talking within his mind. However, when comparing this technique with the other two visual promos that I have talked about, this is a similar technique that is used throughout as they all use professional camerawork to display the story and the environment and the characters. Furthermore, the music video and this TV show trailer both use professional lighting and editing to make it seem high quality and overall attractive towards the audience enough for them to watch the product. Another technique that this visual promo uses is the use of music and how it sets the mood for the trailer to convey the theme and possible story to the audience. For example, their is unsettling music that plays throughout the trailer, building up to something dark and evil which mirrors the protagonist Joe's ideas. What I mean by this is that within the trailer, the music is suspenseful and quite off putting, giving the audience that sense of unease as they watch, making them feel like something isn't right with the main character and that it will suddenly take a dark turn. We can compare this technique with the other visual promos such as the music video and the video game trailer as they all use music within their videos and it overall plays a big role with setting the mood of the story being told. The comparison between them is that the music video uses music to express the emotion of sadness and lost, the video game trailer uses music to create a sense of action and excitement within the audience, while the TV show trailer uses the music to convey secrecy and a sense of uneasiness of something that is wrong. However, something that this trailer has that the others don't is the technique of using dialogue or a a voice over to give hints to the audience about the story. What I mean by voice over is when in the trailer we are first introduced to Joe's internal dialogue within the trailer and as different clips play in different locations which gives the audience that idea that within the show we will be hearing more of his internal thoughts throughout the season.. However when comparing this technique to others, the music video does not have any kind of voice over and instead just uses the music from the music video as well as sound effects, while the game trailer does use some dialogue but instead focuses on the gameplay and the activities that players can do.
Moving on to the next trailer / visual promo that I am comparing to the previous others is the Wicked film and comparing the techniques such as editing and such with the other promos. One technique that I think this trailer does really well is using professional shots using high quality and professional cameras to gain these attractive cinematic shots. What I mean by this is that this trailer uses a wide lens within some shots and clips to show the audience the fantasy world of Oz coming alive, the school of Shiz and the Emerald City which will make long term fans of the musical and the books very pleased as this world that they have either imagined or seen on a stage play is coming alive through these different cinematic camera shots that display the world of Oz to the audience. Additionally, this technique is similar throughout all of my professional trailers I have chosen as they all use some sort of cinematic shot within their video to convey different meanings such as the 'We Can't Be Friends' music video using up close and almost focus shots that focus on the actors face, for example the shot with the character Peaches and her supposed lover sitting on a table both opposite a cake, within the music video to further convey and show the audience the feeling of sadness but also vulnerability within the actors too, possibly a way of showing Ariana's vulnerability of writing this song. The TV show 'YOU' also uses these focus shots and close up cinematic shots within their trailer as a way to draw attention to the main character Joe as the background behind him is all blurred, further showing the decent of his mental health and his obsession slowly starting to grow even more dangerous. For example, this happens when the character Beck is first introduced and it walking through the book store and up to Joe. However, even those these two products use the same technique, I would argue that The Legend of Zelda trailer has the same intention as the Wicked trailer with using wide shows to show the world as this is what players will be wanting to see and explore, so I would say that the two most similar ones in terms of cinematic clips are Wicked and The Legend of Zelda as they both take place within fantasy worlds, meaning that these shots have been used to display this imaginative and fictional world to the audience. Another technique that this trailer uses that is similar to the other trailers / music video is the technique of using music and sound to provoke emotion within the audience. Wicked was originally a musical on stage, so they already had the main songs ready that they were going to sing within the live action, meaning that the musical songs played a huge role within the trailer as these are what the audiences were excited to see and the songs make the Wicked fanbase feel even more excited and enticed by the film, knowing that they are going to hear these songs in the interpretation these new cast of actors playing the main roles. Furthermore, this technique of using music to convey emotion is used within all these previous trailers that I have mentioned, as within The Legend of Zelda trailer, their is a massive orchestra that plays in the background with a tempo and beat that is quite fast, making audiences feel hyped up about the product and making them ready to face the action within the game. We can say the same with the music video and the TV show as Ariana's song that is used within the video has a slow beat and a slow tempo, making audiences realise that this is a personal song and overall makes audiences feel admiration and sadness for Ariana for being so vulnerable, meanwhile the music used within 'YOU' is a very ominous and tense tone, making audiences feel uneasy that something is not right and that a massive turn for the worst is coming. Wicked is overall similar to these in terms of using music as the music used within the trailer is a mix of the original songs from the musical, which makes audiences feel nostalgic possibly by hearing the brand new take on these songs and it makes them excited to hear the full songs within the film when it eventually comes out. However, a technique that I believe this trailer does differently towards the others is the technique of their lighting and the overall colours used within the trailer. What I mean by this is that within the Wicked trailer, we can see that their is very bright lighting and rich, vibrant colours which overall suit the theme of the fantasy world of magic and fictional imagination / wonder, whereas if we compare these lighting techniques towards the others, they contrast since Ariana's music video uses quite dark and melancholic lighting with soft lighting appearing sometimes, which would suit the tone of the sad music video. As for the TV show 'YOU', this show uses a mix of light and dark lighting but overall uses mostly dark lighting to convey that something evil is lurking within Joe, and the game trailer The Legend of Zelda uses natural lighting that fits the area of where the main character is which gives the audience that theme of exploration and how the lighting changes depending where they explore.
Finally, now I am going to compare the BBC One Indent's techniques to the previous promotional videos that I have compared together. I overall believe that since this is a TV Indent and doesn't necessarily promote anything and instead just functions as a way of branding towards an audience and making sure that the audience know that they are watching BBC One, their are some similarities and differences when it comes to comparing the techniques of the videos. The first technique that I am going to talk about is the technique of the high quality cinematic shot of the Hippos all swimming in a circle at the top of the ocean. This clip is not something that someone can take without having the right and professional equipment and editing skills to overall produce this video and I would say that this technique is a similar thing to what the other promotional videos have used too. I believe this because as I have stated before that all of these videos / trailers contain professional cinematic scenes and shots to make the video look more professional, more exciting to the audience for them overall to buy / watch the product. We can see the technique of close up shots being used within the music video to convey the vulnerability and sadness that this song is about and we can also see this same technique of having close up cinematic focus shots on the character Joe to further display to the audience his obsessive mind and how it could be a danger within the show. However with the cinematic shots within the Wicked film trailer, it contains wide cinematic shots that displays the land of Oz to the audience and makes original Wicked fans happy with the realistic adaptation of the world. We can see this same technique of cinematic shots within The Legend of Zelda trailer as this trailer also uses wide shots to display the world of Hyrule and since the game is about exploration and giving the freedom of players to explore, showing the open world with this shot is a crucial technique that makes this trailer successful. However, this cinematic shot within the TV Indent shows the professionality with the TV channel and it ensures to the audience that they are watching the correct channel, due to the professional cinematic shot used of the Hippos. However, this Indent also has differences when compared to the other promotional videos such as the editing and length of the Indent itself, compared to the trailers and the music videos that I have talked about. What I mean by this is that the TV Indent of the Hippos is roughly around 30 seconds which makes it very short compared to the other videos that I have compared this to and it also doesn't contain editing elements such as the others, and instead this video keeps the editing smooth and simple with adding in the music and the logo of BBC One. Comparing this TV Indent to the other videos that I have compared this to, all of the trailers / music videos duration is around 2 - 3 minutes long as they provide enough visual content for the audience to watch as their main job is to promote a product whereas this TV Indent doesn't really promote anything and instead reminds audiences that they are watching BBC One. Additionally, the trailers use a lot more editing techniques such as transitions, different kinds of music, voice overs, lots of different clips editing together and fast / slow to keep the audiences interested within the product. Finally, the last difference that this TV Ident has differently towards the others in terms of techniques is the camerawork in terms of camera movement and such. What I mean by this is that the TV Indent uses simple, flow camera movement that flows with the water shown within the clip, almost as if we are following the Hippos to the circle but this also sets a calm atmosphere for the audiences as they change between shows and such. This camera movement is different compared to the other promotional videos as Ariana's music video is not very noticeable and more slower compared to the Hippo Indent, which creates more connection with the audience as they get to see a different side to Ariana instead of her usual fast movement pop music videos. Comparing this to The Legend of Zelda trailer, this trailer uses fast camera movement to convey the dramatic scenes towards the viewer and to make the action within the game seem more intense and epic, enticing audiences to buy and play the game. When talking about the camera movement within the TV show 'YOU' we can see that the camera moves slowly within a mysterious way, especially when the camera is locked on someone moving or walking, giving that theme of surveillance and Joe's obsession. Finally, when comparing movement to the Wicked trailer, we can already tell that the movement within the camera is very theatre like as it follows characters dramatic actions and focuses on the characters and the environment, showing that their is a lot of control within the movement of the camera, which you could argue is a similarity with the TV Indent and how the camera movement follows the Hippos in the water and focuses on them as they move while also displaying the water.
